Workflow
Check Decisions
Steps in the workflow not associated (bound) to an analytic test can have decisions set by clicking the leaf node checkbox. Steps bound to an analytic test must use the Test Results controls or the Results and Decisions controls.

Basic Use
If the unbound step has no decision, you can use the checkbox to set your decision. Multiple clicks cycle through possible decision states.
- first click sets decision to Pass, the checkbox is checked
and text is blue.
- second click sets decision to Fail, the checkbox is unchecked
and text is red.
- third click sets decision to Ignore, the checkbox is checked
and text is gray.
- fourth click resets to no decision, the checkbox is unchecked
and text returns to the original black.
Details
- The workflow file can set any unbound step as "NoCheck", which means you cannot use the Workflow control to set decisions, and must use the Test Results controls.
- You can use a group checkbox to set decisions for all unbound steps in the group, unless the group as been set as "NoCheck".
- You cannot use a group checkbox to set fail decisions.
- Decisions from prior sessions cannot modify the decision using the above methods.
- Depending on the application theme representation of checkboxes, it may be difficult to visually determine if a test is bound or unbound. (see image below from Office White application theme)

Clicks on the checkbox can be made in quick succession, or revisited at a later time in the same session. However, in a later session, you will need to use the Test Results controls and provide a comment to change the decision.
If you want to add comments to a check only decision, perhaps to say why it failed, you can select the step (select the text to the right of the checkbox) to open the Test Results window, then add comments there.
