Drag Window

Define extent of Inset Map using a resizable and draggable window on Main Map.

Basic Use

ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE INSET MAP TOOLBAR

1. click to start the tool.
2. a transparent blue window will appear on the Main Map.
3. click and drag the grab handle in the lower right corner to resize.
4. click and drag the center target of the window to move it.
5. Each time you resize or move the Draw Window, the Inset Map will pan and zoom to the extent defined.
6. right click the Drag Window when done.

Note: The tool's window will adjust to the aspect ratio of your existing Inset Map window when you first resize with the drag handle. If you try to make the window very small, it doesn't work so well. Zoom into the Main Map a bit first.

Our Preference - An excellent tool when working with a large fabric, because you use the Main Map as an overview to drag the tool's window to areas you want to see in detail. Much faster than repeated use of pan and zoom tools.
