Float a Window

Float (undock) any window by dragging. Also implemented as action in Windows and context menus.

Basic Use

To float by dragging:

  1. click the window's title bar or tab and begin to drag.
  2. Once dragging, guide positions will be shown.
  3. hover where drag arrow is NOT over a guide position and release.
  4. Then drag window wherever you want it positioned.

Details

  1. You can also use the window's context menu.
  2. You can also use Windows Float on the main menu.

Info: A tool or document window that is in Floating state is within a rafting window container. A tool window can be in a rafting window by itself or as part of a tool window hierarchy. The rafting window can be moved anywhere above the dock site hierarchy and can be docked during drag operations. The rafting window can be maximized or restored.
