New at version 4.0 are options for per user installation and licensing. This allows non-administrative installation, configuration and licensing of PlanTest.
PlanTest installation is a two step process.
PlanTest Install is fairly simple. You can choose where to install the software, and you can choose between installing for any user that logs into the machine, or only for yourself.
Choose "Just for me" to install if you do not have administrative privileges on the machine. This option uses a part of the registry that is under the user's control, and installs the XflowConfiguration.xml for your jurisdiction under the same folder as the PlanTest log files. See configuration help pages to learn more about the role and modification of the XflowConfiguration file.
If you install with the "Everyone" option, you must have administrative permissions on the install machine. Use this option if you have a shared machine that will be used by others needing access to PlanTest.
PlanTest uses a number of auxiliary files to configure PlanTest for your jurisdiction. Typically they will all be in a single folder. Installation in most cases is just to either copy your sites standard folder, or set up the location of a shared folder in the main configuration file. You can also do both, so that you can have one set for remote work and one when in the office.
You can modify the XflowConfiguration file to switch between the local and office configurations. More conveniently, you can use a command file to switch between copies of the XflowConfiguration file. read more...
